9.1 Deputy Lord Mayor Burnet - Undercover Concrete Sporting Facilities File Ref: 13-1-10 |
Question: In response to the availability of undercover concrete sporting facilities, I believe there are indoor sports facilities such as the Netball Centre at Creek Road which do host some roller sports. Having said that, given the obvious paucity of facilities and the increased demand on non-traditional sports such as roller derby, wheelchair sports other wheeled and alternative sports, how do we facilitate identifying the gap and also access in relation to sports facilities in the municipality?
Answer: The Director City Amenity took the question on notice. |
9.2 Deputy Lord Mayor Burnet - K&D Site Parking File Ref: 13-1-10 |
Question: The UTAS-owned K&D site appears to have provided use almost exclusively for basketball facilities. It appears that there is leasing being undertaken of car parks for $200 per car park by the basketball organisation and the university. Has the Council any influence on the university’s use of this facility in response to an overall plan for access by other sports codes to the former K&D site? Answer: The Director City Amenity took the question on notice. |
