Governance Committee Meeting (Open Portion) held on Tuesday, 30 May 2017 at 5.00 pm in the Lady Osborne Room, Town Hall.

Alderman Thomas arrived at 5:09 pm and was present for items 6.1 to 10.
Alderman Reynolds left the meeting at 5:54pm and was not present for item 9.
The Lord Mayor was co-opted to the Committee for items 1 to 6.1 and item 9.

The Council note the following draft by laws – Public Spaces; Infrastructure; Car Parks; Environmental Health; and Waste Management, provided respectively and marked as Attachments A to E to the Open Governance Committee agenda of 30 May 2017, prior to a public consultation process, noting that drafts will not be finalised until the review process is fully undertaken.” |

The Council note the following draft by laws – Public Spaces; Infrastructure; Car Parks; Environmental Health; and Waste Management, provided respectively and marked as Attachments A to E to the Open Governance Committee agenda of 30 May 2017, prior to a public consultation process, noting that drafts will not be finalised until the review process is fully undertaken. 2. The Council lobby the State Government for a review of the Urban Drainage Act 2013, in order for a number of deficiencies in the Act identified in the staff consultation process, to be addressed.

Question: Could the General Manager make enquiries of the Glenorchy City Council regarding the occurrence of menacing behaviour along the Inner City Cycleway within the Claremont area. Could the General Manager ascertain whether there is any surveillance undertaken by the Glenorchy City Council and are Tasmania Police aware of any issues within the area. Answer: The General Manager took the question on notice. |

The Council determine whether it has any additional issues it wishes to lobby the major parties on in the lead up to the next State Election.
