Minutes of the Special Joint City Infrastructure Committee and Finance Committee Meeting (Open Portion) held on Monday, 23 January 2017 at

3.45 pm in the Lady Osborne Room, Town Hall.

 

COMMITTEE MEMBERS Burnet (Chairman) Thomas Deputy Lord Mayor Christie Zucco Ruzicka Sexton Reynolds Denison Harvey     PRESENT:  Alderman H C Burnet (Chairman), Alderman D C Thomas, the Deputy Lord Mayor Alderman R G Christie, Aldermen E R Ruzicka, P T Sexton, W F Harvey, the Lord Mayor Alderman S L Hickey, Aldermen J R Briscoe and P S Cocker.     APOLOGIES:  Alderman M Zucco Alderman T M Denison     LEAVE OF ABSENCE: Alderman A M Reynolds

ALDERMEN Lord Mayor Hickey Briscoe Cocker                 Alderman Sexton arrived at the meeting at 3:50 pm during discussion of item 2.1.   The Lord Mayor arrived at the meeting at 3:46 pm and was co-opted to the committee for item 2.1.   Alderman Briscoe was co-opted to the committee.

 

RUZICKA

That:     1.    The Lord Mayor be co-opted to the committee for item 2.1.

2.    Alderman Briscoe be co-opted to the committee.

2.1      Department of State Growth's Hobart Traffic Congestion Report - Implementation of Clearways and Parking Incentives             File Ref: F17/2557

HARVEY That the recommendation contained in the report of the Manager Traffic Engineering and the Director City Infrastructure of 20 January 2017, be adopted, as amended by the deletion of Clause 2.

COMMITTEE RESOLUTION:

That the Council approve clearways being implemented on the following Hobart streets: (i)      For 25 metres on the right side of Davey Street upstream of the Southern Outlet; and (ii)     The right side of Barrack Street (between Macquarie Street and Davey Street).
